Heartland FM commenced as a Special Event radio license service in 1994. Located on the Gold Coast Hinterland. With the help of radio guru Peter Tate. Peter has and continues to offer expert technical advice and runs his own streaming service, Station X Gold Coast.

A permanent studio was established at Robina Town Centre linking to nine licenses located on the Gold Coast and operated for five years. Regional licenses were obtained in locations such as Tamworth in NSW and Roma western Queensland. Heartland FM continues to utilise seventeen narrowcast licenses today.
The most vital concept for Heartland FM is to feature Independent Australian Country Music Artists denied exposure on mainstream commercial and non-effective community radio stations.Heartland FM maintains that full and free competition should be enabled by the Federal Government on all broadcasting spectrums.
Heartland FM embraces new technology in its delivery. Our new streaming service is best listened through Win Amp which can be downloaded free.
